What is R-Leaf

R-Leaf®, developed by Crop Intellect Ltd, is a groundbreaking technology that transforms air pollution into fertiliser. It captures nitrogen oxides (NOx) from the atmosphere, converting them into nitrogen. Integrated into a liquid fertiliser, it is applied by tank-mixing and spraying onto plants. This innovation further destroys N₂O resulting in reduced greenhouse gas emissions, lowering the carbon footprint of farming, increasing yield and delivering a sustainable solution for agriculture and the environment.

R-Leaf's technology

R-Leaf® is powered by photocatalysis, a phenomenon where a mineral absorbing light, accelerates a chemical reaction without being consumed. While photocatalysis require UV light, R-Leaf® utilises a safe, abundant and highly effective photocatalyst, titanium dioxide (TiO₂), enhanced through a patented process, optimised to convert NOx into nitrate under daylight. This innovation makes R-Leaf® a practical, sustainable, and eco-friendly solution, effectively reducing air pollution while providing plants with a natural source of nitrogen, addressing both agricultural needs and environmental challenges.

How R-Leaf works

R-Leaf® is sprayed directly onto plants with standard farm equipment, where it provides a consistent, natural nitrogen source for the plants. It is typically applied at a rate of 1 liter per hectare, sprayed twice over the growing season. This reduces the reliance on synthetic nitrogen fertilisers, making farming more resilient. It furthers destroys nitrous oxide (N₂O), the most potent greenhouse gas, contributing to a significant lowering of the farm carbon footprint.
