The application record is permanent. The quantified environmental attribute can be assigned and retired.
Crop Intellect can record which beneficiary receives a quantity, the reporting purpose and year, and when that quantity is retired. Partial assignments are supported, so the same application can serve more than one legitimate recipient without selling or claiming the same quantity twice.

Each issued certificate is stored as a versioned snapshot. Certificate issuance and assignment/retirement events are linked in a SHA-256 hash chain, creating a tamper-evident audit trail. Public blockchain anchoring can be added later without placing farm, invoice or personal data on-chain.
